Entrepreneur, participate in the development of your residential area

Did you know that as an Espoo resident, you can participate in the development of your own neighborhood? Information on zoning and current projects is regularly updated on the City of Espoo’s website. The easiest way to find plan projects in your area is on the Espoo map service  or on the  espoo.fi/asemakaavoituskohteet page. Residents’ events related to formula projects are also announced on Espoo’s Facebook  and  Twitter .

Upcoming events

In the Kalajärvi formula area, Niipperintie 97 , 4-storey residential apartment buildings are planned to replace the existing two-storey apartment buildings.

Espoon Asunnot Oy has applied for a change in the town plan to replace apartments in poor condition with new ones.

What is your Green Valley 2040 like? We are preparing a long-term plan for the Green Valley. We want to spark a debate on the future of the Green Valley and hear the views of the people of the Green Valley. The aim is also to find development targets and partners for the long-term development of the district.

The green valley 2040 is based on the city’s hopes for the development of its own property over the years. The sites are located in different parts of Viherlaakso in detached areas and business districts. With an aging building stock and undeveloped plots of land, questions have arisen about developing the area to meet future needs.

Come and discuss the development of Viherlaakso in a remote workshop on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 5 pm to 7 pm. How would you like to develop the Green Valley? Would you like to hear what others in the area think? What is important and worth preserving in the area? What should be changed and in what ways so that we can prepare for future opportunities and challenges? At the remote meeting, we will talk about the current state of the area, the building stock, the results of the Mun Espoo map survey and the feedback received. In small groups, we discuss the participants’ thoughts on the Green Valley as a whole, additional construction, recreation areas, services, transport and mobility.

In small group discussions, a common understanding of the topic is built through open listening and discussion. We do not aim for unanimity: we can disagree when we accept each other’s opinions.

You will not be asked for prior preparation or planned speeches. Come as you are with your own experiences and thoughts.

Participants are requested to  register  for the event in advance no later than June 10, 2021. The number of participants in the event is limited to the first 50 to register due to small group work. The nature of the event requires that participants be involved from start to finish. Registration is binding. If you are unable to attend the event, notify mervi.romppanen@espoo.fi no later than the previous day  .

Warm welcome!

The event is organized by the Espoo City Planning Center.

Note. A separate workshop on the development of the Green Valley will be organized for  companies on  16 June 2021 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

After the event, we will open a survey to gather residents ’views of the area. The survey can be answered via the formula’s website:  https://beta.espoo.fi/fi/hankkeet/nupurinkallion-taydennysrakentaminen between  10 June and 10 August 2021. In the fall, we will hold two workshops to review the results of the survey and prepare formula goals with residents.

A warm welcome to join!
